My Other Mum Childcare & Training has a motto “widening the choices — opening the pathways”; this is accomplished through our flexible delivery and school partnerships.

MOM endeavours to lift the confidence in those persons who are already doing a wonderful job with children but as yet have not had the confidence to access formal training.

Competency-based training gives students from all backgrounds and ages the opportunity to demonstrate what they understand and is therefore suitable for a wide range of learning styles.

Innovation and affordability are the key words with MOM. MOM has developed its own study resources and theory assessment booklets that are to-the-point and easy to understand, and accompanies a set of informative and current text-books that students will use for both courses and will also be valuable assets to students for future tertiary studies in Early Childhood.

Affordable fees opens the vocational pathway to a wider range of prospective students who otherwise could not afford to access accredited training through a Registered Training Organisation.

Course description

The Certificate lll in Children’s Services is the new entry level qualification for Children’s services and also the pre-requisite for the Diploma of Children’s Services.

This qualification covers workers who use organisational policies, procedures and individual children’s profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes.

Depending on the setting, workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously. In some settings, the worker may also have limited supervisory responsibilities of volunteers.

Workers at this level are required to have an understanding of Indigenous culture and history and to work with local communities in the provision of services.

The certificate lays the foundations of Early Childhood development and practices.
